Different from companies in the same industry in other countries — most applying the model of collecting seeds from farmers — Lam Tai applies a closed self-production farm model.
Closed production system
The company has a closed production system, from seedling nursery - planting - hybridization - fruit cultivation - harvesting - export packaging. Besides greenhouses, drip irrigation and care systems, fertilizer management functions in production provide different formulas corresponding to each growth stage of the plants, continuously monitoring the EC of nutrient solution, pH level and water supply, ensuring each final seed is "healthy".
Regarding pests and harmful insects, the company has collected records over 20 years locally, building a disease profile, thereby preventing the outbreak of diseases and pests. At the same time, arranging staff to control hygiene outside the field, raw materials and tools are sterilized, aiming for seeds free of harmful and infectious diseases. Water used in the seed treatment process is equipped with wastewater treatment devices installed many years ago to contribute to environmental protection.
Each production operation process applies SOP (standard operating procedures), KPI (production history), combined with collecting meteorological data to create digital records for monitoring and future reference. In terms of management, the ERP computer software management system has been implemented since early 2009 to effectively coordinate internal work, facilitating smooth production.
Quality philosophy
For the company, quality management is the lifeblood. Unlike ordinary agricultural products, hybrid seed quality has absolute standards, either meeting or not meeting. How to achieve good quality is the biggest challenge for the company and is the key to the company's survival.
